World Blogger Championship of Online Poker (WBCOOP)

This year from February 23 till March 4 there will be another World Blogger Championship of Online Poker and it will be the first time that I am participating. The WBCOOP provides great opportunities to all poker players and I hope to make the best of it. Let me start by telling something about my history of poker and what it means to me.

I have had a mild form of repetitive strain injury for a long time and about a year and a half ago it escalated into an infection in my right wrist. I was shocked to hear that i might need a year to recover and that in the worst case it might even be chronic. I was unabled to do anything with my right hand and so soon my left wrist in which I have also had a mild form of repetitive strain injury started to take its toll.. After a while i became unabled to use any of my hands at all and had serious doubts as to what to do with my life. After wondering for half a year i found poker and i saw an opportunity. I knew that with enough time investment one could become a winning poker player and time is what i had plenty of. I never had any unrealistic dreams about become rich of poker, i just wanted to make the best of my situation and see how far i could get.

At first i was unable to use a mouse or keyboard so I started digging into the theory. I bought books, and read alot online. After a while i found innovative ways to actually play the game myself. My first invention included me taping a mouse to my underarm while my wrist was locked in position by an old wrist protector. I am currently abled to use a keyboard so with certain software that allows keybindings I luckily no longer have to use my creative invention.

I started on the lowest stakes available and have been grinding my way up through the stakes steadily ever since. It has currently been about a year since I started playing poker and with the speed my wrists are healing I am afraid that I dont have much choice other than to keep doing what I do.. I have really started to like poker though, so for my situation i am quite happy.

The World Blogger Championship of Online Poker is a great opportunity for me to advance my game. If I will win the $5000 prize money I will definitly invest it all into my poker career. I will use it to get professional coaching, and I will purchase some software that will help me improve my game and make it easier for me to play under my special circumstances. I will invest the rest of the money into my bankroll and even though I normally play cash, I might just play a tournament here and there.

I wish the best of luck to everyone participating and will give it my best myself!
