Friendly People, Friendly Poker
Here's an idea: Can anyone come up with an idea for a prop bet in relation to Poker being a skill game instead of just luck based like your average casino slot machines or other table games?
This is something I bet we could get going on 2+2 and with PokerStars involved if we come up with the right idea. Who knows, maybe we can even get Chiren involved...

Permalink Reply by Pokerpingu on November 12, 2011 at 10:52am I think Nanonoko (and many others, including Chirens NL2 challenge) already prooved poker is a skillgame... to many hands... quite high stakes... and only winning in the long run... Can't be luck based on his sample.
only poker players know its a skill game, most of politicans and those fuckers just saw poker once in tv and knows shit
Permalink Reply by Ry on November 12, 2011 at 11:54pm It is still gambling. This is the real issue, whether skill is involved or not.

A lot of things in life is gambling. The beauty of poker is that its gambling for 94% and the rest not...
By the way I take any challenge if I can do it any time and not more then 24 hours.

you are getting confused by skill and luck

You can also gamble with positive expectation.... Lets say I roll a dice... if it lands on 6 i pay you 10 times your stake. It's gambling.

Poker is gambling compared to chess, because u have the element of playing to high stakes, blow your bankroll and a lot of people do it so we cant elimante gambling from poker. But that its a skill game YES for sure.
I can turn 10 dollars into 200 dollars in 6 hours 9 out of 10 times does not mean im a lucky gambler, but means the players at the 1-2cent 1 dollar sit and go are really baaaaad....

I feel a prop bet coming.........
Permalink Reply by Ry on November 25, 2011 at 11:13pm chess is gambling if you wager money on it. Not even sure why this skill argument exists. Because there is skill, does not nullify that it is gambling. And the chance factor has nothing to do with it being gambling or not. It is the wagering of money.
